         The Federal Census of 1880   ( Recorded: June, 1880 )   shows " Andrew ", a teacher by profession, residing with his parents and
" Emma Hockenbury Rittenhouse " residing with her parents.   Them not living together was more than likely due to " Emma " being pregnant, and close to delivery, with their first child " George " which was common during those days.

         Sadly ... most of the " 1890 Federal Census " materials were destroyed in a 1921 fire and none of the information for the State's of New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania or Delaware survived the fire.

         " Andrew ", now a widower, was married second in 1918 to " Angelina E. Divine Faulks " who was also a widow of James H. Faulks who had passed away in 1916.   " Angelina " was born the daughter of Michael William and Angelina Elizabeth Divine on January 31, 1861 in New York.   She also had " 3 " adult children:  Alice F., James Donald, and Walter Divine Faulks.

         In the 1920 Federal Census   ( Recorded: January, 1920 )   they are shown residing in a home on a farm that they owned mortgage free near Lebanon Villiage, Clinton Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.   Based on all census data it appears that " Andrew " sold his Wire Fence Company, " Angelina " sold the home that was left to her mortgage free by her late husband, and they both ended up purchasing this farm.
         The 1920 Census notes that " Andrew " is a 64 years old " Laborer " on their farm and " Angelina " is noted as a 57 year old " Homemaker ".
         Also residing with them are :
         " Angelina's " son Walter Divine Faulks who is noted as a single 23 year old " Farmer ".
         Alice F. Faulks Bowlby the 26 year old widowed daughter of " Angelina ",
         Harold V. Rittenhouse the 11 year old grandson of " Andrew ",
         and Clara I. Divine Naughright the widowed 55 year old sister of " Angelina ".

         From the year of 1926 through the year of 1933 " Andrew " served as the first Mayor of the town of Lebanon, New Jersey.

         In the 1930 Federal Census   ( Recorded: April 10, 1930 )   they are shown residing in a home that they owned " mortgage free " on Cherry Street in Lebanon, Clinton Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.   " Andrew " is noted as being 70 years old and employed in a " Fencing Factory " and " Angelina " is noted as a 67 year old " Homemaker ".
         Still residing with them is Alice F. Faulks Bowlby the 34 year old widowed daughter of " Angelina ".

         " Great Sadness " again struck the family on January 12, 1936 when " Angelina E. Divine Rittenhouse " preceded her husband in passing away at the age of 74 years, 11 months, and 12 days.   She was interred next to her first husband James in the Evergreen Cemetery, Hillside, Union County, New Jersey.

         In the 1940 Federal Census   ( Recorded: April 4, 1940 )   " Andrew ", now age 80, is shown residing in a home that he owned " mortgage free " on Brunswick Avenue in Lebanon, Clinton Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
         Also residing with him is his step-daughter Alice F. Faulks Bowlby the 46 year old widowed daughter of " Angelina ".

         Sometime in 1942 " Andrew ", who was suffering from ill health, moved to Clinton, New Jersey to the home of his daughter " Jennie Rittenhouse Leigh " and her husband Walter Scott Leigh.

        " Andrew Bray Rittenhouse ( 70 ) " passed away there at the age of 85 years, 1 month, and 20 days on October 11, 1944.   He was interred next to his first wife " Emma Lane Hockenbury Rittenhouse " in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.   Together he and " Emma " had " 6 " childten together :

         She was married to " George Crater Hughes " on November 2, 1882 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.   " George " was born in 1862 in New Jersey and the names of his parent's are currently unknown.

         In 1881 " George " started the " Democrat Advertizer " which later became the " Hunterdon County Democrat newspaper ".

         From 1921 through 1930 " George C. Hughes " served as the postmaster for the East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania post office.   During this time their son " Russell " took over the duties of the " Hughes Printing Company ".

         He married " Augusta Schwab " on June 22, 1946 in the First Presbyterian Church in Roselle, New Jersey.   Augusta was born the daughter of " Otto Charles Schwab " and " Elizabeth Lily Kress Schwab " on August 1, 1908 in Brooklyn, New York.

         " Marvin " worked for and retired from New Jersey Bell .....

         " Marvin " had done extensive research on the " Shepherd " and " Runyan " families and was one of my ( Russ Pickett's ) main and original sources of information for these two Family History.   " Marvin " spent many hours in the archives in Trenton, New Jersey going through all the old papers for our ancestors .....   And he an I spent many hours on the phone talking about both families .....

         In 1991 " Marvin ", who was a known " Runyan Family Historian ", was called to review the personal effects of a man who had recently passed away in Pennington, New Jersey which contained some " Runyan Family " information.

         In this man's effects was a copy of an original deed dated March 5, 1712 between Daniel Coxe and " Thomas Runyan " and his brother " John Runyon ".   It was given to " Marvin " and he presented it to the Museum in Hopewell, New Jersey.   He also sent this author ( Russ Pickett ) a copy of the original .....

         " Marvin " also, along with his cousin " Richard Charles Shepherd ( 146 ) ", officially installed the U.S. Government Revolutionary War Veteran's Stone in Baptistown, New Jersey.   This stone is still decorated each Veteran's Day by the County.

         " Marvin " resided in Elizabeth, New Jersey with his sister Mary ( 130 ) until her passing in 1999 .....

         " Peter Aller Shepherd ( 140 ) " preceded his wife in passing away on August 30, 1978 at the of 75 years, 3 months, and 3 days in the St. Francis Medical Center of Heart Failure.   At the time of his death he was residing in Ewing Township and was interred in the Ewing Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

         " Ida " was married first to " Earl Holcombe " son of Walter and Annie (_____) Holcombe and they were later divorced and did not have any chilren.

         She married second to " Thomas H. Werner " who was born on November 27, 1907 and passed away on April 3, 1991.   Thomas' parents are unknown at this time.

         " Ida May Shepherd ( 141 ) " passed away on April 5, 1997 at the age of 92 years, 8 months, and 22 days and was interred with her parents in Riverview Cemetery, Lambertville, New Jersey.   She did not have any children during either marriage.

She was named for her Aunt " Edith " May Howell.

         She married " Russell Stout " on February 21, 1923 when she was 17 years old in Elkton, Maryland.   " Russell " was born the son of " John Nelson Stout " and " Minerva J. Kroesen Stout " on February 8, 1903 at 9 Cottage Street also in Lambertville, New Jersey.

         " Russell " and " Edith " lived in multiple houses, all in the Lambertville area during their marriage.   Right after their marriage they rented a home on Hewitt Road just north of Goat Hill Road.

         On October 31, 1929, prior to the 1930 Federal Census, the family suffered " Great Sadness " when their daughter and sister " Dolores Stout " who was born on May 31, 1929, passed away at the age of Age 5 months.   She was interred in the Holcombe Riverview Cemetery, Lambertville, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

         They are first shown in the 1930 Federal Census   ( Recorded: April 9, 1930 )   residing at 24 Elm Street which is a home that they " rented ".   " Russell " is shown as a 27 year old " Shoemaker " in the " Lambertville Rubber Mill " and " Edith " is a 24 year old " Homemaker " raising their " 3 " oldest children :

         On April 10, 1934 the family suffered " Great Sadness " when their daughter and sister " Vivian Ida Stout " passed away at the age of 9 years, 8 months, and 27 days due to a Rheumatic Heart Condition with which she was born.   She was interred in the Holcombe Riverview Cemetery, Lambertville, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

         In the 1940 Federal Census   ( Recorded: April 3, 1940 )   they are still residing at 24 Elm Street which is a home that they " rented ".   " Russell " is shown as a 37 year old " Roll Man " in the " New Hope Paper Mill " and " Edith " is a 34 year old " Homemaker " raising their " 3 " children :

         In the 1950 Federal Census   ( Recorded: April 10, 1950 )   they are residing at 22 Elm Street which is a home that they " owned with a mortgage ".   " Russell " is shown as a 47 year old " Mechanic Helper " in the " New Hope Paper Mill " and " Edith " is a 44 year old " Saleslady " in a " Drug Store ".   They have " 1 " child residing with them :
         Beverly ~ ( Age 18 - Working as a Telephone Operator )

         " Edith ", at first, worked at home as a mother and homemaker.   She later worked as a " Saleslady " in a " Drug Store " on Union Street in Lambertville.   She enjoyed playing Bingo and was an avid member of the Patriotic Order of American's Lodge (P.O.A.).   She served one year as the National President of the P.O.A.

         Her husband " Russell " first worked at the " Lambertville Rubber Mill " and in later years he worked in the " Union Paper Mill " in New Hope, Pennsylvania ( currently apartment buildings ) until his passing.   He was a member of the Top Rock Club, enjoyed shad fishing on the Delaware River ( See the shad fishing photo on the Stout Family History ) and was an avid baseball player in his younger years.   His baseball team mates included his brother Edgar " Mitty " S. Stout and Edith's brother " Harry Jacob Shepherd, Jr. ( 145 ) ".

         " Sadly "   ~   " Russell Stout " preceded his wife in passing away on December 8, 1965 of a Heart Attack at the age of 62 years and 10 months after 42 years of marriage.   He was interred in the Holcombe Riverview Cemetery, Lambertville, New Jersey.

         29 years later " Edith Elizabeth Shepherd Stout ( 142 ) " was found stricken in her home by friends on Thursday, January 20, 1994 and taken to the Doylestown, PA Hospital where she died later that night of a stroke at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 7 days.   She was interred in the Holcombe Riverview Cemetery next to her husband on Monday, January 24.   Together they had 5 children :

         He married " Olive Howell " on June 17, 1944 in the Cenetary United Methodist Church in Lambertville, New Jersey.   She was born on October 4, 1905 the daughter of " Charles E. Howell " and " Jennie Shakespeare Howell " in Wilmington, Delaware.   " Olive " was previously married to " Howard Van Sant " in 1924 with whom she had " 3 " children : " Howard Van Sant, Jr. ~ William Van Sant ~ Janice Van Sant ".

         They are first shown in the 1950 Federal Census   ( Recorded: April 11, 1950 )   residing at 249 North Union Street, Lambertville, New Jersey..   " Sheppie " is shown as a 37 year old " Accountant " at " Diamond Silver " and " Olive " is a 42 year old " Homemaker " raising their only child :

         " Sheppie " attended all of his schooling in Lambertville.   After their marriage they continued to live either in Lambertville or the area.   They first resided at 249 N. Union Street, then moved to 57 Elm Street, after the flood of 1955.   They later moved into a house on the road between Lambertville and Hopewell next door to his niece " Joyce Stout Buchanan ( 192 ) and her husband Jim Buchanan and they eventually returned to Lambertville to a home on Jefferson Street.

         He worked in the office at Pennshale Brick of New Hope, Diamond Silver as a Plater and in the office and worked as the Office Manager of Lewis Concrete in New Hope until his retirement.   " Sheppie " also served as the mayor of Lambertville for 16 years from 1952 through 1968.   His wife " Olive " stayed at home and raised their son and worked as a housewife.

         " Sheppie " was also an avid semi-pro baseball player in the mid-1930's.   His baseball playing team mates included his brother-in-law " Russell 'Bink' Stout " ( see his sister Edith's ( 142 ) info above ) and Russell's brother " Edgar 'Mitty' S. Stout ".

         " Harry Jacob 'Sheppie' Shepherd, Jr. ( 145 ) " preceded his wife in passing away " on his birthday ", November 28, 2001 at the age of 89 years old and was cremated.   His ashes were interred in the Riverview Cemetery, Lambertville, New Jersey.

         " Olive Howell Shepherd " was later moved to the Fountains nursing home in Pennsauken, NJ area where she passed on January 14, 2005.   She was also cremated and interred next to her husband.   They had one son together and Olive had 3 children previous to their marriage, Howard, William and Janice Van Sant.

         Was born the 7 ^th child and 4 ^th son of :

" Harry Jacob Shepherd, Sr. ( 78 ) " and " Amanda Carver Howell Shepherd "
on May 7, 1925 in Lambertville, New Jersey.

         " Dick " graduated from Lambertville High School in 1942.   He enlisted in the Navy in July 19, 1943 in Flemington, New Jersey.

         On June 19, 1944 " Dick " was assigned to LST-920 where he served as a Radioman Second Class during World War II.   LST-920 was involved in a " top secret cargo mission " from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to England in 1944 and was also part of the Landing on Okinawa in 1945.

         After returning from his time in the Navy " Dick " married " Janet Rhead " in 1954 in Trenton, New Jersey.   Janet was born on May 7, 1931 the daughter of " Harry Rhead " in Trenton, New Jersey.   She was raised by her Dad and his sister Dorothy Rhead.   After their marriage they first resided in Lambertville, New Jersey.

         " Dick ", like his cousin " Marvin ( 131 ) ", had done extensive research in the Shepherd Family Tree.   " Dick " also, along with his cousin " Marvin ( 131 ) ", officially installed the U.S. Government Revolutionary War Veterans Stone in Baptistown, New Jersey.   This stone is still decorated each Veteran's Day by the County.

         " Richard Charles 'Dick' Shepherd ( 146 ) " passed away on April 19, 2019 at the age of 93 in Mount Holly, New Jersey and he was cremated.

         His wife " Janet Rhead Shepherd " has also passed away however the actual date is currently unknown.   They had 3 children together :
