One of her teachers sent her parents the following letter: I certainly was shocked yesterday when the children came to school and told me of Vivian's death. She was such a dear girl, one couldn't help loving her. I know I shall miss her terribly, as she sat in the very first seat. Some of the children were grieving yesterday and were taking it very hard, but I told them that Vivian was a great deal happier than any of us, because she was with God, and wouldn't want to come back again. Please accept my sincerest sympathy and I do hope that God will give you both strength to accept the task of giving up Vivian to Him. Very Sincerely Yours,
