In the " 1920's " through the " 1960's " it was very popular for folks to be married in " Elkton, Maryland " like they did ..... In Maryland you could get a " marriage license " and also be married on the " same day ! " However you couldn't do that in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware ! " Russell " was a member of the Top Rock Club, Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church, enjoyed Shad fishing on the Delaware and was an avid baseball player in his younger years. His baseball playing team mates included his brother
" Edith " worked most of her years at home raising her children. After her children were grown she worked as a clerk in a drug store on Union Street in Lambertville. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was an avid member of the Patriotic Order of American's Lodge (P.O.A.) She served one year as the National President of the P.O.A. For many years she also attended the annual meeting of the P.O.A. in Buffalo, New York. When " Edith " attended those annual meetings her husband " Russell " and his brother " Edgar 'Mitty' ( 266 ) would spend the week in Odessa, Delaware with their daughter Virginia " Ginny " ( 208 ).
" Russell Stout ( 272 ) " suffered a Heart Attack while home in bed on December 8, 1965. He later died the same day in the Hospital in Trenton at the age of 62. He was interred in the Holcombe Riverview Cemetery, Lambertville close to his daughter " Vivian ( 300 ) ". Later, after his passing, his brother and best friend " Edgar 'Mitty' ( 276 ) " would be interred close by.
" Edith Elizabeth Shepherd Stout " was found stricken in her home by friends on Thursday, January 20, 1994 and was taken to the Doylestown, Pennsylvania hospital where she died later that night of a stroke at the age of 88. She was interred in the Holcombe Riverview Cemetery next to her husband on Monday, January 24. Together they had 5 children :

He is noted as being 29 years old and working at the Universal Paper Bag Company in New Hope, Pennsylvania. On October 16, 1940, when he registered for the draft, he was still noted working the same place however he was noted as residing in a rented room at 19 Coryell Street in Lambertville. In the 1950 Federal Census ( Recorded: on April 17, 1950 ) " Mitty " is shown renting a room from Hannah R. Slack located at 19 Coryell Street in Lambertville, New Jersey. He is noted as being 37 years old and working in a Flatware Manufacturing Company in New Hope, Pennsylvania. " Mitty " served in the US Army Medical Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Leni Lenape Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows and an honorary member of Columbia Fire Company 4 (Volunteer). He had been noted as a baseball player, playing left field on the former Top Rock Baseball Club along with his brother " Russell ( 272 ) ". " Mitty " was a founder, and also an avid supporter and umpire for many years, of the Lambertville Little League and after his passing the field was named the " Mitty Stout Little League field " however, over the years someone has now renamed it ! He also umpired at the local High and Prep Schools. He also was a manager of the former Lambertville Indians. He worked for the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation. " Edgar Studdiford 'Mitty' Stout ( 276 ) " became ill at his home on Delevan Street on January 6, 1970 and was taken to the Flemington hospital. He died the next day on Thursday, January 7, 1970 at the age of 56 years, 11 months, and 1 day while still in the hospital of heart failure. Idaho " on December 18, 1941 and remained on the ship for the entire war. The Idaho first served as the "Flagship" for the attack of the Aleutian Islands and was part of the bombardment and patrol force there until the Japanese left the islands. The Idaho later served in the attack of the Gilbert Islands, Marshall Islands, Battle of the Philippine Sea, Battle of Peleliu, Iwo Jima, the invasion of Okinawa, and was present during the signing of the Japanese surrender documents on 2 September, 1945. A 1950 Federal Census has not been found for the family ..... " Steven Bertrand Bentham, Jr. " preceded his wife in passing at the age of 75 years, 2 months, and 12 days on June 4, 1996 and was interred in the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, California. At the age of 10 she was ruff housing with a local boy when she collapsed and never regained consciousness. She passed away on that day, April 10, 1934. One of her teachers sent her parents the following letter: I certainly was shocked yesterday when the children came to school and told me of Vivian's death. She was such a dear girl, one couldn't help loving her. I know I shall miss her terribly, as she sat in the very first seat. Some of the children were grieving yesterday and were taking it very hard, but I told them that Vivian was a great deal happier than any of us, because she was with God, and wouldn't want to come back again. " Ginny " attended Lambertville 3rd Ward School on the corner of Perry and Main Street through the 8th grade ( This building is now a Senior Citizen Center ~ 1994 ). She then attended Lambertville High School on the hill through 11th grade. She started working at the Hosiery Mill on Cherry Street during the summer after she completed 11th grade and never went back to finish 12th grade. She did so to help her parents during the World War II years. After her marriage to " Jack Pickett " they moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania due to " Jack " attending Millersville State Teachers College in Millersville, Pennsylvania. Their first son " John, III ( 269 ) " was born while they were in Lancaster. After " Jack's " graduation from college they then moved to High Street in Odessa, Delaware due to " Jack " obtaining a job as a teacher in Warner Junior High School in Wilmington, Delaware. Also residing in this same home on High Street were the " Buckworth ", " Hatton " and " McNatt " families and they found lifelong friends with these families ! Later they moved into a home, that for the most part, was built by " Jack " on Cantwell Avenue, also in Odessa, Delaware. " Jack " later became the first " white " principal of the predominately " black Howard High School " in Wilmington, Delaware and remained there until his retirement. While " Ginny's " children were of pre-school age she spent time home raising them. She also worked at multiple jobs spending the most time waitressing at the " Old Anchor Inn " that was owned by neighbor " Gene Fretz " and as a dress sales person in Patricia Hawkin's Dress Shop in Mt. Pleasant, Delaware. Together they had two children. " Jack " preceded his wife in passing away at the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 16 days on April 6, 2010 of alzheimers at the Courtland Manor Nursing Home in Dover, Delaware. He was interred in the Old Drawyer's Cemetery, Odessa, Delaware. " Ginny " sold their home in Odessa, Delaware and first resided at the home her son " Russ ( 270 ) " and his wife Karen and then later, for many years, lived in her own in a apartment in Dover, Delaware. When " Ginny " got to the point she could no longer drive she moved, by her choice, to the Broadmeadow Cadia Rehabilitation Home, in Middletown, Delaware to be closer to her friends in the area. " Emma Virginia 'Ginny' Stout Pickett ( 301 ) " passed away at the age of 99 years and 12 days on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the Broadmeadow Cadia Rehabilitation Home in Middletown, Delaware. The cause of her passing was simply old age ..... She was interred in the Old Drawyer's Cemetery, Odessa, Delaware next to her husband. They had " 2 " children together.

" Joyce " attended Lambertville 3rd Ward School on the corner of Perry and Main Street through the 8th grade ( This building is now a Senior Citizen Center ~ 1994 ). She then attended Lambertville High School on the hill from where she graduated. " Joyce " worked as a homemaker, raising her two children and then helped to raise her grandson Andrew ( 354 ) while his dad and mom worked. She and her husband " Jim " lived north of Lambertville in West Amwell Township in a home that " Jim " built in 1955. Her husband " Jim " was a World War II veteran and later worked as a Design Engineer at the N.J. Department of Transportation, in the Design Division, and retired with 37 years of service. " Joyce Elizabeth Stout Buchanan ( 302 ) " preceded her husband in passing at the age of 66 on January 1, 1995 at her home at 7:30 a.m. after a battle with Lou Gerhig’s disease (ALS). She was interred in the Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery in Lambertville on January 4th. " Alfred James 'Jim' Buchanan, Jr. " remained in their home until he passed away at the age of 87 on February 29, 2012 and was interred next to his wife. He was born the son of Frank O. and Edna Titus Voorhees and was born on September 12, 1932 in Ringoes, New Jersey. They resided in Hopewell, New Jersey after their marriage. " Frank " worked as an insurance salesman. " Buzzy " worked as a waitress at " Chubby's Luncheonette " in Hopewell, New Jersey for over 30 years and she walked to work everyday! They were divorced in November, 1980. " Buzzy " continued to work and reside in Hopewell, New Jersey for many years. They had no children together. " Frank " remarried after their divorce. He also had one child by a marriage previous to him and " Buzzy " being married. " Buzzy " help to raise this son: " Mark Voorhees ". Besides spending time with her family, " Buzzy " always loved to dance, looked forward to trips to Atlantic City casinos with friends, was interested in watching sports, especially golf and always enjoyed going out to lunch or dinner with family and friends. " Nicole Katherine Stout ( 416 ) was born the 4th child and 3rd and last daughter of Jeffrey Brian Stout, Sr. ( 352 ) and Julie Elaine Simmons Stout on March 30, 1980. She married " Jason Reginald Pitts " on July 25, 1998. They were divorced in May, 2009.
Christopher Scott " Chris " Pickett ( 450 ) was born the 1st child and 1st son of " Russell Stout Pickett ( 370 ) " and " Diane Sue Collison Pickett " on March 13, 1976 in the Kent General Hospital in Dover, Delaware.
He attended Fairview Elementary ( 1st - 3rd ), Towne Point Elementary ( 4th ), William Henry Middle School ( 5th - 6th ), Central Middle School ( 7th - 8th ) and graduated from Dover High School, Dover, Delaware in 1994. Soon after high school he joined the 153rd Military Police Company of the Delaware National Guard where he proudly served for 12 years. He was awarded numerous decorations and citations. His unit was activated into fulltime military service during "Operation Spring and Enduring Freedom" serving with his unit in Saudi Arabia from 2002 thru 2003. " Chris " was never married and had no children. He worked in an online position and " enjoyed the city life " where he resided in a one-bedroom apartment in Baltimore, Maryland. He was one of those few people that when someone met him they instantly liked him ..... even though he had led a personal troubled life ..... " He was known to buy food for people and their families while in Baltimore that never paid him back ..... " Also " Chris " bought things from people that he didn't have any use for ... But he knew they needed the money .... A year after " Chris " passed away I met a man from " South Dakota " while attending a wedding in " Rochester, NY " that approached me and asked if I was " Chris Pickett's " dad ? I of course told him yes .... then he told me that when he was down all he had to do was get online ... find " Chris " online ... and somehow " Chris " was always able to make him laugh and forget about his problems ..... That was " Chris " ..... I was always so proud of the man that he was ..... " Chris " is missed by everyone who knew him ..... But no one misses him more than his " Dad " ! " Chris " went to be with his heavenly Father on " Easter Sunday April 4, 2021 " while alone in his home in Baltimore, Maryland. He was found by his Mom and Dad two days after he had passed away. He died of a Heart Attack.
