In the 1860 Federal Census ( Recorded: September 9, 1860 ) they are shown residing on a farm near Federalsburg, Caroline County, Maryland. " Robert " is still shown as being a " Farmer " and 45 years old. His second wife, " Mary ", is shown as being 55 years old. They are shown with " 1 " child, a daughter-in-law, and another child residing with them :
The 1860 census is the last one that records this family. Apparently those taking the census data did not come across them from 1870 through the 1900 census'. Possibly " Mary " passed away and " Robert " moved in with another family member. " Robert Dean ( 51 ) " passed away at the age of 81 on August 2, 1895 and was interred in the Friendship Cemetery, Friendship, Caroline County, Maryland. It is possible that both of his wives are also interred there.

" Great Sadness " struck this family when " Mary Emily Dean Collins ( 65 ) " passed away in September, 1881 due to birth complications delivering her daughter " Lona Alice Collins ( 72 ) " ..... Sadly ..... most of the " 1890 Federal Census " materials were destroyed in a 1921 fire and none of the information for the State's of New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania or Delaware survived the fire. When " Shadrack " and " Sarah's " daughter " Mary ( 65 ) " passed away in 1881 at the age of 27 both of her children, Alverta ( 71 ) and Lona Alice Collins ( 72 ), came to live with them. After their grandmother passed away they continued to resided with Shadrack ( 60 ) until he passed away. " Sarah 'Sallie' Christopher Dean " preceded her husband in passed away at the age of 62 on November 30, 1892 and was interred in the Nichols-Williamson Family Cemetery, Nichols, Maryland. " Maurice " worked as an Insurance Salesman, Farmer, Carpenter and at one time owned and operated a store in Denton, Maryland. " Grace " grew up in Preston and worked with her family on their farm. She attended all of her schooling in Preston and was the only family member to graduate from High School. During her marriage " Grace " worked as a homemaker and raised her children. This marriage ended in divorce and
" Maurice Samuel Dean ( 86 ) " passed away on May 30, 1979 in Philadelphia, PA of a Heart Attack at the age of 71. He was interred somewhere in Philadelphia. " Grace Carroll Dean " passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2002 at the age of 94 years old in the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton, Maryland. She was interred in the Denton Cemetery, Denton, Md.
