The following list was created in the memory of the United States soldiers & sailor that gave their all for their country while either at, or their remains were sent to, the Hoten Pow Camp, Mukden, Manchuria 42-123 (China) during World War II.
The Japanese military originally set up this POW camp in Mukden, Manchuria (Northeast China), where 1,202 American POWs arrived in November of 1942 from Manila via Pusan, Korea. It would eventually hold almost 2,000 Allied POWs from the US, the UK, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand.
Most POWs were made to work at the Manchurian Machine Tool Factory, MKK, (Manchu Kosaku Kikai Kabushiki Kaisha) while some others worked at a leather tannery, a textile mill, and a steel and lumber mill.
During the first winter, nearly 200 POWs perished due to their failing health and appalling living condition of the first camp, which was a very old Chinese military barrack built partly underground. The camp was moved to a newly-built brick facility near MKK in July of 1943.

I have created or found "online memorials" for these honored men using "Find A Grave". You will see a blue " Yes " behind their names and by clicking on the " Yes " you can see their memorial and or their place of burial that has been created for them.
On "many" of the online memorials you will see a small biography for each soldier which may include: parent's names, where they lived and how they actually died. If you see one without a bio, photos, or you have more information on them please " email me - (by clicking here) " and I'll try to insure that their records are updated!
This is just a small way of making sure these soldiers and sailors that gave their all ARE REMEMBERED!!
Whether a soldier or sailor was " Killed In Action ", " Missing In Action ", " Died of Wounds ",
or even died in the " Line Of Duty " ......
Whether a soldier or sailor was awarded medals or not ......
They are all " HERO'S " in my book and deserve all the recognition they can get !!
Special Thanks To Find A Grave Members:
- " Jeff Hall " - " For his great photos in Honolulu, Hawaii and remembering our POW's "
- " Janice Hollandsworth " - " For her great work at Manila American Cemetery & remembering our POW's "
- " Shane Olsen " - " For his great photos and bio's "Nationwide" & remembering our POW's " - ( Fellow Veteran )
