     
The earliest known member of my Pickett family is my G-G-G-G Grandfather " William Pickett (1) " who was born in abt. 1786 possibly in Salem County, New Jersey. Efforts to establish who his parents were have been futile up to this point.
He married " Elizabeth Dunlap " on October 4, 1806 in Salem County, New Jersey. The date of her birth as well as who her parents were is also currently unknown. Their son " Edward (2) ", after his marriage to " Catherine Conver " in Salem County, New Jersey, settled in the New Hope, Pennsylvania area where " Edward ( 2 ) " was noted as a Shipwright.
Since " Edward's ( 2 ) " time some members of the family, such as my dad, have moved to other places. However, until my dad's move in 1948 to Odessa, Delaware, the family basically remained in the New Hope, PA area where many family members still reside.
For ease of identification in the below " Family History document " each family member has a number that is referenced through this entire document. That is, "Edward " is number " 2 " and my number is " 179 ". Links to other documents, when necessary, are shown in "Bright Blue".
The most celebrated member of my family is " Joseph Pickett ( 9 ) " whose painting are hanging in the New York City museum of Art and the Camden, New Jersey museum of Art. And have some of his paintings displayed as part of this document and hopefully I'll be able to display more at a later date.
