And why is all this going on ? I'm pretty sure you already know why but I'll let you know anyway. Basically it either makes people that write or create this stuff famous and/or it makes them Rich ! And they love to use titles for their works like:
As we approach this delicate subject within the Bible
" ... it is with excitement ... and with sadness as well ... "
For in the prophecies we will cover, it will become very clear that we are truly living at a time when the " Second Coming Of Jesus the Christ " is so close you can almost feel it starting to happen in earth's history. As we read in II Timothy:
II Timothy 3:1-4
[ 1 ] This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. [ 2 ] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [ 3 ] Without natural affection, trucebeakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
[ 4 ] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Note:
The term " last days " in verse [ 1 ] above
mean the " last days " before " Jesus' Second Coming "
" and not " the " last days " of the earth's existence .....
In our world today we seem to see three sides forming concerning this subject.
- The " doomsdayer " negative people who talk only about God's wrath and want to tell everyone, " falsely I might add ", that " His Second Coming " is the end of the earth. They seem to want to " scare people " into believing what they believe the scriptures say instead of proclaiming the truth of what the Scriptures actually say !
- The " careless " overly optimistic people who are not concerned about the times and continue to go about life as if nothing is going on .....
- The " Unaware - OR - Uneducated Christians " who are not being given inaccurate information from their pulpits or who are basically " to lazy " to read the Bible itself for the answers they need about the " Second Coming Of Jesus the Christ ! "
( Fellow Christians remember this - it's " YOUR " personal responsibility to know the Scriptures ! )
But somewhere in-between these three sides is what the Bible actually tells us about the actual " Second Coming Of Jesus the Christ ! " ..... And that is the purpose of this article.
We, as followers of Christ, are to be a " separate people " - a people of honor, strength, and courage !
" To obey Him " we must take the heart of a servant and be meek, humble, patient, kind, willing to forgive, willing to help and serve others, even our enemies !
" This requires much strength ! " This is strength ! We must pray for His strength ! Hold fast and endure in faith.
" God watches us, hears us, and knows our hearts ! "
" He is the God who lovingly offers a second ( and third and fourth ) chance ! "
" He waits patiently for us to return to Him, and will forgive us when we ask ! "
Now ..... if we are going to find the Biblical answers we need concerning the " Second Coming Of Jesus the Christ ! " we are going to first have to read about:
" Amazingly ", this prophecy is also the one thing both early Jewish and early Christian writers and teachers seemed to agree on. They all wrote as though it was " common knowledge. "
The teaching at the time was that at the very end of 6000 years of human history a terrible cataclysmic global judgment ( The battle of Armageddon ) will basically end Mankind's ( and Satan's ) rule over the Earth. They also taught that in order to make way for the 7th Day ( the 7th Millennium ) when we are told the Messiah ( Christ ) will fully restore the Earth in peace and beauty, and will reign over Israel ( and all nations ) for 1000 years.
Note the below " Simplified Timeline " below:
II Peter 3:8
[ 8 ] But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the LORD a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
Psalm 90:4
[ 4 ] For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
So basically, as noted on the above " Simplified Timeline ", and since we are currently in the " Year Of Our Lord 2021 ", Jesus' second coming is extremely close ! How close ? Here is Jesus' answer to that exact question:
Matthew 24:36
[ 36 ] But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
So anyone that tries to tell you exactly when He will return is basically a " Lair ! " and apparently does not know the Bible ..... If God the Father " wouldn't even let Jesus know while he was on earth " ..... why would He let someone now living on this earth of ours know ?
However ..... based on the " Simplified Timeline " that we get from " Daniel's Prophecy " which notes that Jesus will come about 2,000 years after leaving ..... since it's also known that Jesus was crucified about 30 A.D. ..... and since we are now in the " Year Of Our Lord 2021 " ..... it must be pretty darn close.
